Structure of the meeting

This year´s Wilhelm Bernhard Workshop (WBW) on the Cell Nucleus will host the annual symposium of the Society for Histochemistry (SfH). The Society for Histochemistry will be responsible for the organisation of one session including the award of the Robert Feulgen Prize 2015.

Scientific topics covered

The meeting will focus on basic research in the fields of biology and biomedical sciences and broadly deal with the organization of the cell nucleus in normal and aberrant states of cells. As to the methodology of addressing this question, there will be no restrictions,   a focus, however, will be put on microscopy-based approaches. Furthermore all kinds of spatial molecule detection modalities in normal and pathological samples will be of high interest to the participants.

Expected attendance

The initial idea of the Wilhelm Bernhard Workshops was bringing  together scientists from the former “West” and “East” and the WBW has continued to represent a platform in this spirit. Thus a high percentage of scientists from Eastern European countries will be expected. In general, the WBW and SfH meetings are usually attended by scientists from all over Europe and many other countries (US, Japan, etc.). Calculated number of participants: 90-120.

Venue

The meeting will take place at the Austria Trend Hotel Schloss Wilhelminenberg (Savoyenstraße 2, 1160 Vienna).
